This course is all about e-learning and online activities at the RUB!

Good to have you here! This Moodle course serves as your "digital" introduction to university life. We will show you how to find your way around at our university and which digital media you will be confronted with, so that you are prepared for your first steps in the online cosmos of the Ruhr-Uni. We also give you a first taste of other RUB services.

Who are we?

You want to know who we are? We are student employees in the e-learning department of the Zentrum für Wissenschaftsdidaktik (ZfW) and are located in the FNO building on campus. We advise and support teachers and students on the topic of e-learning/digitally supported teaching and learning from two perspectives: firstly, as student e-learning supporters and secondly, from the perspective of regular students at our university.

Goals:

You learn everything important about e-learning and online teaching at the RUB.

Recipient:

Especially for first-semester students of all faculties (Bachelor and Master), all students of the RUB and everyone who wants to become one.

The three content areas of the course:

• In the section "Basics Online-Lehre", we explain how to use the online learning platform Moodle, the video conferencing software Zoom, the campus cloud Sciebo, basic netiquette in an online context and the options for obtaining free software from the university.
• In the section "Digitale Studienorganisation" we explain how to use RUB Mail and show you interesting apps & tools that you can use to organise your studies in the best possible way. We will direct you to the instruction portals for eCampus and FlexNow and have created an overview of the most important learning and working locations at RUB for you.
• Under "Unterstützungsangebote" we refer you to our online consultation hour "From students for students", where we can help you with all your questions regarding e-learning at RUB. You will also find information about the digital study group finder and the central student advisory service.
